With a headline like “Donovan McNabb traded to Redskins,” I’m sure the normal Philadelphia Eagles fan will want to either dance in the streets or fling batteries at the Energizer Bunny for not running quick and long enough. The former group points to his scarcity of Super Bowl victories and allegedly inaccurate arm. The latter is simply surly. .
McNabb’s new home is happy to have the six-time Pro Bowler, or at least that’s how the Washington Post puts it. Philadelphia was bold to move him, and the result will most likely be something that falls short of but will nevertheless resemble bold incompetence. Eagles fans, enjoy the Phillies this season. They’re worth it. Michael Vick at QB is not. Kevin Kolb is a wait-and-see – either a sleeper who can be getting a big salary cash loan soon or a mediocre QB.
This could mean a starting QB for D.C. with McNabb being traded to Redskins
Now that Washington knows what they’re getting, McNabb traded to Redskins also means there were some uncertainties with Jason Campbell. All they had to give up to get him was a second-round draft pick (37th pick overall) along with a fourth-round pick in 2011. .
Don’t expect the very same kind of performance he produced back in 2004, when he led the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX and was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Year. Despite current circumstances, McNabb stood his own ground – 31 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and a 104.7 quarterback rating. Now gobble down that greasy sandwich and wipe your hands on your filthy undershirt and Underoos. Just keep your football “knowledge” to yourselves and cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze. I really could do without your mutant germs while waiting in that pay day loans line.
Donovan McNabb – he led the Eagles to 4 consecutive division titles and 5 conference championships
Of course he would have traded it all in for Super Bowl victory, but really, how many other worthy quarterbacks never won the Super Bowl? Among them, Donovan McNabb ranks highly well. With over 32,000 passing yards and 200 touchdowns – stats that are in reality better than John Elway’s, when touchdowns to interceptions are accounted for – “McNabb traded to the Redskins” should make D.C. fans smile. This man can still play football.
