
The recent Tennessee flooding of the Cumberland River has extensively damaged parts of Nashville, including the Opryland Hotel flooding. Right across from the Grand Ole Opry itself, is the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, of which the Opryland Hotel is a part. Heavy damage has also been done to the home of country music. This kind of damage takes a lot more than a little instant money to undo.
Opryland Hotel Flooding
The Opryland Hotel flooding has damaged a premiere area of Nashville tourism. The Opryland Hotel complex, or the Gaylord Opryland Resort, is a large resort. A luxury hotel, convention center, and lots of recreation activities are located on site. Tennessee unemployment is expected to shoot through the roof, and it isn’t known how many are out of work due to the floods. Several days ago, the guests of the Opryland Hotel were evacuated.
The Grand Ole Opry
The soul of Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry is right across the way from the Opryland Hotel and resort. . The last time the Grand Ole Opry moved a concert was in 1975, also because of the Cumberland River flooding. You will find Opryland Hotel flooding pictures on CBS. The Cumberland River has badly damaged the home of country music.
Where do we take it from here?
The recovery from the flood will take a while. The Cumberland flows right through downtown Nashville, and it isn’t just the tourism industry that is affected. The Opryland Hotel flooding has shut down a huge attraction and employer for the area. The waters have begun to recede, but the full extent of the damage is yet to be seen.
